Congratulations to DAF Trucks Australia ambassador Steve Richards and full-time Supercars driver Craig Lowndes winning the 2018 Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama, NSW, this weekend. Steve is now a five time winner and Lowndes a seven time winner of the Great Race. This was Craig Lowndes 25^th and final Bathurst 1000 as a full-time driver.

The Autobarn Lowndes Racing 888 Holden ZB Commodore win came from ninth on the grid and a mid-race drop to 16th position, after Richards went off at pit entry, as well as persistent steering problems through practice. The final winning margin was 6.2920 seconds over Scott Pye and Warren Luff, who finished second for a consecutive year from 18th on the grid, while Scott McLaughlin and Alex Premat rounded out the podium on third.
