DAF CF85 Earns UK Fleet Truck of the Year

Abbey Road Tanks, operating DAF CF85 vehicles, was named UK “Haulier of the Year.”

July 14, 2010 – For the 10th time, and an unprecedented third year in a row, the DAF CF85 has been voted “Fleet Truck of the Year” in the annual Motor Transport Awards, the UK’s premier transport industry awards.  Ray Ashworth, managing director of DAF Trucks UK, received the trophy in front of 1,400 leading figures from the industry at a presentation dinner in London on Tuesday July 13.  “We are proud that the DAF CF85 has earned this important industry award.  Everyone in our industry and throughout the DAF team recognizes the significance of this award since it is an accolade from the fleet operators themselves,” said Ray Ashworth.

“To win in 2008, 2009 and 2010 – three of the most challenging years the UK transport industry has ever experienced – underlines the value of this award.  It highlights the exceptional fuel economy and overall efficiency of the CF85, together with the outstanding in-service support provided by our nationwide network of dedicated dealers,” said Ashworth.  In the 24 years since Motor Transport introduced these awards, no truck had won the vehicle award three years in a row.
