DAF uses SCR technology – Selective Catalytic Reduction.  This SCR technology offers an effective solution to comply with the strict European Euro 5 emission requirement.  SCR technology is simple, reliable and efficient.

SCR is an after-treatment system applied to all current PACCAR Euro 5 engines, and is used in conjunction with an advanced high-pressure fuel injection system.

SCR technology has been successfully used for many years in some of the harshest climates and industries in the world, including trucking, marine and stationary power applications.  Over 125,000 PACCAR Engines worldwide are successfully operating with SCR technology.  SCR provides a reliable, economical and effective technology to meet the strict ADR80/03 and Euro 5 emission requirements.

As the pollutants are reduced to near-zero levels within the exhaust stream, an engine with SCR after treatment will operate cooler, cleaner and more efficiently than engines without this clever technology.
